Many of you probably know about Google. Maybe, you don't know what Google is and how Google works or uses it. But, if you have ever used the internet, then you have used Google at least once to search for any information, file or details on the internet.


About 10-15 years ago, people used to use the internet, but they could not take advantage of it like they do now. Because, 10-15 years ago there was much less information on the Internet than now.

So, to know about some things or to get information about anything, they used to read books or consult others. But, it was not an easy task to get information for anything like this by reading books or by listening to other people. Receiving information like this was a big problem at the time.


After some time, people started posting information on various topics through websites and publishing them on the internet. Thus, people started to get information or knowledge about anything through the internet and websites at home.


But, there was a problem with this process too. That is, to find the right website to get the right information. Meaning, thousands of websites have taken their own place on the internet which contain information on various topics.


Now, how do people know which websites have the information they need? It is not possible to remember the names of thousands of different websites at once. From the internet, easy access to accurate information quickly was the real problem of the time. And, just then, to solve this problem, two young men came. The solution to that problem was "Google". And, solving it with Google, made Google the world's most popular and people's favorite Web search engine.


History Of Google

The Google company was officially launched in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin to promote "Google Search". And then within a very short period of time this Google search became the most used web search engine.


Larry Page and Sergey Brin were two PhD students from Stanford University in California. And, these two together created a search algorithm, which was called “BackRub“.


Later, this BackRub name was changed to Google.

Google was launched in 1996 as a research project only. And, this research project was called “BackRub“. After many difficult situations and challenges this project was successful and later its name became Google search.


At the time of research, basically the search engine did not have its own domain or server. They were using it from the Stanford university website through the google.stanford.edu and z.stanford.edu domains.


Later, the Google.com domain name was registered for the first time on September 15, 1997 (15 sep. 1997).

When the research project of this search algorithm was going on, it was named “BackRub”. But, later when this project became successful, its name was changed to “Google”. Now, you might be wondering, “What does the name Google mean?” And why it was named Google.


So Janenin, the name Google is derived from a misspelling of the word “Googol”. The word "Googol" has a lot of importance in mathematics. The word Googol means 100 zeros (0) behind 1.


And, the name Google was given from Googol because the name indicates that this search engine will be able to provide solutions to a very large amount of information we are looking for. Meaning, as the name suggests, the search engine will provide us with a large amount of information.


So, when you search something in Google search, you will surely find that there are many O's after the G word. And, each O takes us to a different result page that contains websites related to the information we're looking for.

In 1998, Larry Page created a computerized version of the Google logo or letter using a free graphic software. And, the name of that software is "GIMP". Then, our now famous (famous) Google logo was developed by graphic designer Ruth Kedar".

The founders of Google are Larry Page and Sergey Brin. When they were at Stanford University in California Ph.D. He started working on Google as a research project. Then, the result of their success is the Google we have today.
